The below can be used as a guide if you're not sure on your boot size, and need guidance with where to start - it is best to measure the length of your foot when stood up. Due to individual foot shapes or preferences in fit this recommendation may vary. We also offer some boots in wide and narrow fitting options.

LOWA boots are made in UK sizes (not EU) and are true to size. Most people buy their normal footwear size, however, we do offer free returns for peace of mind if the fit isn't quite right.

Specifications

The new Explorer is the latest member of LOWA’s Trekking boot family and the first to use a new cushioning technology, Lightcell PU. Litecell gives the Explorer excellent underfoot cushioned, matched to the stability of a traditional midsole, while still maintaining the lateral support of a trekking boot. The Explorer also features an all new Vibram sole with wide spaced multidirectional lugs. This new sole design makes the Explorer instantly comfortable from new (no breaking in), but it is designed so they can also be re-soled in the future. The upper of the boot has a soft suede with down to the toe lacing, allowing you to taylor the fit to your foot shape precisely. A rubber and TPU toe and heel cap offer scuff and abrasion protection. Finally, the Explorer features a full Gore-Tex lining, keeping your feet dry and comfortable.

This product can be resoled by a specialist (in the UK we recommend Lancashire Sports Repairs). They're constructed in a way where the upper of the footwear is retained, and a new sole can be added to it.
Provides a good balance between optimal support for the foot, and pleasant rolling properties.
Patented LOWA technology holds the tongue in place both vertically and horizontally. This prevents slippage, reducing pressure points or blisters. The X-Lacing ensures that the pressure of the laces is transferred not just to the hooks but to the tongue as well.
