Introduction lining material
Good lining material in footwear is about achieving the optimum climate for the foot. The moisture, which is an inevitable by-product of any activity, must be transported away from the foot to the outside, via the quickest route. This prevents a build-up of heat, which can lead to blisters. The material should also be quick to dry, in order to minimize the waiting time between uses. At the same time, the material should be soft to the touch and lie perfectly crease-free inside the footwear.

Leather lining LOWA uses the softest, smoothest nappa leather from cows, at 1-1.5mm thick, for their lining. It is not dyed and so the pores remain fully open. This way, the moisture absorption aptitude is 200% of its original weight. The high moisture rate and comfortable fit of a leather-lined shoe means that you can keep going for long stretches at a time, without your feet getting hot or damp. On longer tours, say over a few days at a time, you simply have to take into account the longer drying times involved in a leather-lined shoe. |

GORE-TEX® HIGH PERFORMANCE RANGE GORE-TEX® footwear lining: A two layer lining material is laminated to the GORE-TEX® membrane.
