Laboratory tests carried out in line with European EN standards have shown that combining different types of rubber with textile materials can increase grip on different terrain by up to 32%. The stud arrangement follows the natural line of the ergonomic foot motion, a minimum of one of the key studs is in contact at all times during the roll-off motion.
This sole is designed to provide confidence on slippery terrain, soft studs offer perfect cushioning on all surfaces, while a robust top quality rubber blend gives good durability.
A special textile material with excellent friction properties on wet and icy terrain is pushed through the sole.
While the ergonomically placed studs that follow the natural roll-off motion of the foot offer optimum stability.

LOWA has qualified once again for the DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 certification for mountain and trekking footwear. Apart from LOWA, the traditional Bavarian footwear manufacturers, there is only one other footwear brand in the whole of Germany that meets the high standards required.
The certificated quality management system covers the areas of development, production and sales. Both business and social aspects play a key part in the audit carried out by the ‘Footwear Industry Quality Control and Development Institute’.
